Yesenia Rodriguez Overnight ER/ICU Manager

Yesenia Rodriguez’s deep love and respect for animals have guided her path from an early age. As the only one in her family who constantly tried to take in stray animals, she always knew she would work with animals—though she wasn’t sure in what capacity. That passion led her to Veterinary Healthcare Associates in 2016, where she started as a receptionist with no veterinary experience. Over the past nine years, she has grown through multiple roles, from Veterinary Assistant to ICU Technician to Specialty Surgery Technician, eventually stepping into leadership as a Supervisor and now as the Overnight ICU/ER Manager.

For Yesenia, the most rewarding part of her career is the impact she has on both animals and her team. “Being someone that can help heal a beloved pet and return it to its family has a lasting emotional impact,” she shares. Now, as a leader, she takes pride in imparting knowledge, skills, and values to her peers, ensuring they, too, experience the fulfillment of making a difference.

What drew Yesenia to VHA—and what has kept her here for nearly a decade—is the organization’s commitment to growth. “VHA offers endless possibilities of career opportunities and guidance. I was given everything I needed to continue moving up and reach my goals,” she says.

At home, Yesenia shares her life with a lovable crew of rescues: two dogs, Krona, a hound mix, and Flipflop, a three-legged Belgian Malinois, along with two cats, Princess and Kitten (who, fittingly, only responds to “Kitten”). Outside of work, she enjoys reading and hosts a monthly book club with her primas (cousins), where they gather for themed nights and a chance to disconnect from the world.

Yesenia’s journey is a testament to the power of passion and the right support system. She looks forward to continuing to lead and inspire her team while providing exceptional care to every patient who comes through VHA’s doors.
