Dr. Barry earned her DVM from Iowa State University in 2006. She then completed her surgical residency at the University of Florida in 2016 to become a board-certified veterinary surgeon (DACVS-SA).
When she was 4, Dr. Barry told her mom that she was going to be a veterinary surgeon (and she’s stubborn). Later, she served 14 years in the Army as a veterinarian and deployed twice. Working with Military Working Dogs while in Afghanistan was an unforgettable experience, and an inspiration. Dr. Barry retired from the Army in 2020, and looked for a work home where people are valued over everything else. As a vet, she loves being able to fix complex problems that her patients have, and getting them back to feeling well and being with their families.
Dr. Barry has 2 rescued Pit Bull mixes, Emma and Gracie. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling (it’s in her blood), baking, running, and musical theater (she’s a “Disnerd”).
