Jeffrey Marsala Manager of Advanced Diagnostics

Jeffrey Marsala didn’t initially start his career in veterinary medicine, but like many, his love for animals had always been present. After spending 7 years in retail, he finally found an opportunity to transition into the field he had always dreamed of, starting as a Veterinary Assistant in internal medicine. His intellect and ambition helped him grow quickly, taking on more responsibilities and advancing in the field.

With experience in internal medicine, cardiology, interventional radiology, and leading a neurology team, Jeffrey has been part of cutting-edge diagnostic and treatment innovations, including placing stents and performing minimally invasive laser ablations. “Access to advanced diagnostics is important to me, and VHA delivers that and more,” he says, excited about the opportunities he now has at Veterinary Healthcare Associates.

Since joining VHA, Jeffrey finds his work in diagnostic imaging to be incredibly rewarding. “I consider diagnostic imaging an art form, and every day I get to come to work as both an artist and healer. It’s what I was destined to do!” he shares. After working in both corporate and private practice environments, he was drawn to VHA by Dr. Nations’ vision to take back veterinary medicine from corporate models—a vision that resonated deeply with Jeffrey.

One of his most memorable experiences was during his time in neurology, where he was part of a team that helped nearly 500 paralyzed pets regain the ability to walk. “Being part of something like that is something I will hold in my heart forever,” he reflects.

At home, Jeffrey’s love for animals extends to his own diverse pet family, which includes Persephone Mae, a 13-year-old Siamese Mix (the queen of the house), Helios, an 8-year-old Sun Conure, Sursea Lea, a 3-year-old Boerboel, Tennessee Achilles Zephyr “Taz,” a 2-year-old deaf Dalmatian, Burger, a 7-year-old Bearded Dragon, Her-Misha, a 2-year-old Rainbow Jackson Chameleon, and Kyrios Ares Tiesto “Kat,” a 6-month-old VHA rescue kitten.

Outside of work, Jeffrey enjoys the beach, sun, and is an avid theme park enthusiast, making central Florida the perfect place for him to call home. Balancing the emotional demands of veterinary medicine is key, and Jeffrey appreciates how VHA provides the emotional support and work-life balance needed for success in this field.
