Veterinary Referral Relations Manager - Central Florida Winter Haven, Florida

About the Position

As we continue to transform Veterinary Healthcare Associates (VHA) into a leading provider of innovative, high-quality, and high-value small animal veterinary care services, our medical team continues to grow. The Veterinary Relations Manager (VRM) works closely with our doctors and serves to strengthen our partnership with referring practices as well as focusing on educational outreach within the veterinary community. The VRM serves as the main communication hub for the referring community and actively monitors and measures the hospitals referral process to resolve problems quickly and improve service. You will be the key strategic, operations, and communications leader to support the growth of our relationship with referring practices. The VRM will possess and utilize a keen knowledge of local opportunities and challenges and be able to strategically navigate the referring and referral DVM and team relationships. You will create and execute meaningful engagement activities to promote hospital services and philosophies. This position is about relationship building within the local veterinary community.

For 30 years, Veterinary Healthcare Associates has been a veterinarian-owned small animal practice that encourages a self-directed and entrepreneurial work environment. We are a fast-growing, progressive, AAHA accredited hospital. With 16 doctors we offer emergency, specialty referral, regenerative and primary care services.

The Ideal Candidate

This position reports to the President of Operations and works in conjunction with the Marketing Manager and Client Experience Manager. Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with referring practices and doctors to form strong referring relationships.
  • Participate in local community and referral practice events and conferences to increase brand awareness and maintain excellent relationships with referring practices.
  • Act as a liaison between Referral Community and hospital by consistently engaging the referring community with relevant and valuable email, phone, and in-person communications. Customizes outreach and interactions based on the individual needs of each referring hospital and doctor. Maintains a regular engagement schedule
  • Works in partnership with hospital leadership to develop and track an annual referral marketing budget to support all outreach events and activities.
  • Enthusiasm and deep respect for the veterinary profession and the ability to convey this authentically through communications and interactions.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required. The equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • Veterinary marketing or practice management experience is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across a variety of channels including in-person, phone, email, virtual meetings, social media, etc.
  • Ability to analyze various sources of data in order to establish priorities and initiate operational programs.
  • Available to occasionally work uncommon hours and overtime, and to travel as needed.
