Addie Blair, CVPM, serves as our Specialty Clinical Director here at VHA, bringing a deep passion for leadership, team development, and patient care to her role. Her journey into veterinary medicine began in high school through an apprenticeship at a small animal hospital, where she quickly discovered a love for both patient care and the dynamic nature of the field. Over time, she worked in nearly every role within a hospital, ultimately leading her into leadership, where she found purpose in supporting teams and helping others do their best work.
With over a decade of experience in veterinary practice management, Addie has built a strong foundation across emergency, surgery, and general practice. Her experience includes leading large teams, managing high-volume hospitals, overseeing urgent care services, and helping open and grow multiple practices. She is driven by a commitment to building systems and cultures that allow both people and hospitals to thrive.
Since joining us at VHA, Addie has found the most rewarding part of her role to be collaborating with passionate teams and watching them grow. She values helping individuals build confidence, develop their skills, and ultimately elevate the level of care provided to patients. Being part of an organization that truly invests in its people and their long-term success is something she finds especially meaningful.
Addie was drawn to VHA because of our clear focus on people, culture, and sustainable growth. She was inspired by our commitment to leadership development, innovation, and creating an environment where team members feel supported and empowered. Her experiences have also shaped her perspective on the human-animal bond, reinforcing the importance of empathy, communication, and creating a culture where teams can support clients through both joyful and difficult moments.
At home, Addie shares her life with Suggs, her 14-year-old Boxer mix, and Dorito, her 7-year-old orange tabby cat. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and embracing her inner Swiftie, appreciating the power of storytelling, authenticity, and connection, qualities she brings into her leadership style.
Addie believes that in order to lead well, it is essential to take care of yourself first. She prioritizes balance by making time to recharge and stay grounded, allowing her to show up with clarity, empathy, and consistency. She values the culture here at VHA that supports well-being, encourages healthy boundaries, and recognizes that when we take care of our people, they are better able to care for others.
No matter what happens in life, be good to people. Being good to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind. Taylor Swift
