Diane Tate BSHCA, MBA Director of ER/ICU & Specialty Care

Diane Tate’s journey to Veterinary Healthcare Associates (VHA) is a testament to her lifelong passion for animals and a commitment to making a difference. Transitioning from a robust career in human medicine, Diane found her true calling in veterinary medicine—a shift she describes as one of the most rewarding experiences of her career. Her love for animals has always been a driving force, inspired by the joy and companionship her own pets have brought into her life. “The people, from the executive team through every role, have a personal conviction and a reason why they show up every day, and it is inspiring!” Diane shares.

Despite not having prior professional experience in veterinary medicine, Diane was given the opportunity to leverage her education and 25 years of leadership experience to make a meaningful impact at VHA. Since joining, she has been moved by the unwavering compassion of her colleagues. “Seeing the compassion that each and every one of our employees displays for our patients—it’s absolutely beautiful!” she says, reflecting on her time at VHA.

At home, Diane is greeted by her best friend, Mocha, a 3-year-old Mountain Feist who is always at the door waiting for her. They share their home with two other dogs and a cat, forming one big happy family. Outside of work, Diane is an avid jogger, a passion that has become a symbol of her commitment to personal well-being after a significant weight loss journey. “Jogging offers me an outlet to reflect on my day and be present in my body,” she explains, hoping her story inspires others.

Balancing the emotional demands of her role, Diane strives to be fully present both at work and at home. She invests deeply in the care of every patient, following cases closely and supporting the VHA team in finding the best solutions. When she’s home, she dedicates that same love and care to Mocha, who she describes as her world.
