Lindsey Avery has always had a deep passion for teaching, medicine, and animals—so her role as Clinical Educator is the perfect blend of all three. With over 12 years of experience in general veterinary medicine and more than 10 years in specialty and emergency medicine, Lindsey has built a career that reflects her dedication to both animal care and education.
A graduate of the Veterinary Technician Institute, Lindsey has witnessed the growth of Veterinary Healthcare Associates (VHA) into a leading specialty practice. “Watching the organization evolve has been incredibly rewarding,” she shares. Lindsey was drawn to VHA not only for its commitment to high-quality care but also for the investment it makes in its employees. “The community relations and the way VHA invests in its team, both inside and outside of work, are what made it the perfect place for me,” she says.
At home, Lindsey is surrounded by her own animal family, which includes five cats—Loki, a Maine Coon, and four Domestic Longhairs: Kato, Sylvie, Journey, and Kyky—as well as three medium-sized mixed breed dogs: Delilah, Nova, and Lexi. When she’s not at work, Lindsey loves spending time outdoors, paddleboarding, kayaking, and exercising with her family and animals.
Lindsey believes that balance is key in the demanding field of veterinary medicine. “Spending time with my family and being active outdoors helps me recharge,” she explains, appreciating how VHA supports this balance through its focus on employee well-being.
